Sowing In Tears

Tuesday, August 12th, 2008

Psalm 126:5-6 KJV They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

When we are in despair and when we feel there is no way out, continue doing God’s Will. Do not let the sadness the world sometimes brings into our lives keep you from following the path we know is right and true. Even when the world says we can’t, when people, situations or events tell us we should not continue or that it is a lost cause, we know that God’s will is always right. Continue following His infallible Word and you shall receive the rewards He has planned for you.

Raining

Tuesday, August 12th, 2008

Zechariah 10:1 (KJV)
“Ask ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter rain;
so the LORD shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field.”

I am sitting here, looking out my window on this very dreary and rainy day. I was really hoping for another beautiful day like yesterday. The sun was shining,
we were outside playing. It was just beautiful. But I realized that all the beautiful things we were
enjoying (plants, flowers, etc.) wouldn’t be here without these rainy days.

This rain gives new life, it refreshes and restores the life already in place. It may not look beautiful in some minds, but it does have it’s own beauty. And imagine what would happen without it!

There are times in our lives when we need spiritual rain. God provides this rain to work within you, to renew you and to strengthen you in every area of your life.

Heavenly Father,
I thank You so much for raining your Word into my life. Thank You that I do not shield myself from all the loving rain you have for me, but that I dance in it, soaking up every last drop. I thank You for renewing, refreshing and strengthening my mind and heart to You moment by moment, day by day. I thank You for providing me with the tools necessary to grow so that I may be a blessing to my family and bless the lives of all You place in our path. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Patience

Tuesday, August 12th, 2008

1 Timothy 6:11
But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

We know that God calls us to live these values / qualities in our lives. For the purpose of this mini lesson, we will discuss patience.

Luke 8:15
But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

A seed that is planted and grown with care and patience will produce fruit. This means the gardener made sure the soil was right, kept it watered,
provided nutrients and so on. The same goes for any situation or person. If you are getting your Ford car fixed, bringing it to someone who knows Ford
model cars is a better *planting ground*. With time and the proper tools, the car will be running fine.

James 1:2-4
My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire,
wanting nothing.

Now, I wouldn’t want to take my car to my local motorcycle shop to have it fixed. They might be able to get it running, but without the proper tools or
knowledge my car is now an accident waiting to happen. It could even have made my car problems worse.

So when we are tried/tempted/tested, it is better to let God work within you and to let Him *fix* you up right the first time. Otherwise it just has to happen over again and again until you do it thoroughly.

Hebrews 10:36
For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

Luke 21:19
In your patience possess ye your souls.

When we work with patience, and allow God to work things in His time, it allows us to grow closer to God more perfectly and completely. We close up the gaps in our lives where the adversary could’ve gotten in.
Some trials may take longer then we want to pass. But God won’t make us face it longer then we are able to. Pray for patience and strength, pray for resolutions, and understand that God knows how, why and when to do it all so that you can grow closer to Him more perfectly.
